Crescendo Beginning Strings Class

The Twinkle Beginning Strings Class is the introductory ensemble experience for very young musicians between the ages of five and seven years old. Violin, viola, and cello players who are enrolled in private lessons and have mastered "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" are eligible to join the Twinkle Beginning Strings Class. Skills that are emphasized include group activities such as rest position, playing position, listening and response games, playing together, playing in rounds, practicing Suzuki songs as a group and introductory note-reading skills. Parents are required to attend the Twinkle Beginning Strings Class and are encouraged to take notes and to practice the skills at home with their child during the week. The class is taught by an experienced string educator with an extensive background in Suzuki education and string pedagogy.

The Twinkle Beginning Strings Class is an excellent program to help young children expand musical readiness for more advanced training. It is an excellent supplement to private lesson instruction and is very motivating for the child and parent. The group experience also provides a fun and social outlet and enhances the musical expression of each child. The students in the Twinkle Beginning Strings Class perform for every concert and learn to be comfortable and confident in front of an audience at a young age.
